Title: Should I update the firmware???
Post by: ChrisGTA777 on August 19, 2009, 07:10:38 PM
I recently bought a DIR-825 router through the newegg.com and I should be receiving it tomorrow. I see that there are some new firmware updates for this router; however, there seem to be a lot of complaints of problems after the updates. My question is to anybody with this router: Should I update the firmware or not. I would hate to have his router start acting up if I update it.

Thanks for the help and answers!!!

God Bless You

If you get Rev A, I'm happy with 1.01 (oldie but a goodie 4 me), IMO.  Everything works

You will probably receive a Rev B1 as some reviews on Newegg indicate that thats what customers are receiving now.  If so, yes, definitely upgrade to V2.02NA.  If you don't the WAN port will constantly drop and you'll want to punt the router out your front door.
