OK. I have two problems here (not including the problem of how bad the d-view software is...do yourself a favor and checkout Linksys cam software...*THIS* is how a cam software *SHOULD* be!)
Anyway.
Issue 1) I am running d-view 2.02. I have in my stable of cameras, two DCS-900W cameras, a DCS-900 camera, a DCS-920 camera and a DCS-5300 camera. All cameras are viewable in the D-View software *EXCEPT* for the DCS-5300...And here is the weird part...If I go into the settings for the DCS-5300, click on the "Motion Detection" tab, I can see the camera image for the DCS-5300...it's there, and it's live! But if I go back to the main viewing screen, I get no image...just the word "Connecting". So, we *KNOW* that the D-View software sees the camera and it can process the images from the camera, it just refuses to show the images from the camera on the main screen.
Issue 2) When I first set up the D-View software, I went into the settings for one of the DCS-900W cameras. I went to the motion detection tab and clicked on the image to set up the motion detection for that camera. I then proceeded to do the same with my two DCS-900w cameras and the DCS-920 camera. Later, I needed to make some changes and move some of the cameras around...So I deleted some of the cameras from D-View. I left one camera there and re-setup the other 3 cameras. Now, when I go to the motion detection screen for *ANY* of the cameras, I cannot click to get a red "X". And the funny part is that the one camera that I *DIDN'T* delete, the red "X"s are still there in the pattern that I set up...*BUT* I cannot add any more red "X"s nor can I remove any of the existing "X"s.
Sub-issue 3) Just a side note...Why is D-View such a hog? Why does it steal almost 30% of my dual core 2gHz cpu running Windows XP? Why does it suck up so much memory? And why, *WHY* oh why does it have to take up my entire screen! I don't even get to see my task bar! Why? Why does it do this? If I have to go to another application that is running on the machine, I have to minimize the cam software to the task bar just to *SEE* the taskbar! This kind of software screen hogging is so 1990's and it makes the software look dated! If I hadn't already invested money in a half a dozen D-Link cameras, I would switch to Linksys just for this reason...although, there are many other reasons to switch anyway!

Have you tried any of them more recent versions of the software like 2.03 or 2.04 can be downloaded from the DCS-1100 or 1130 support website.

Well, *THAT* was a total bust.
I downloaded D-View 2.04 from your website and installed it. It threw a bunch of errors during the installation:
Error 1904.Module C:\Program Files\D-Link\D-Link D-ViewCam\VideoPlayer.ocx failed to register. HRESULT -214722073. Contact your support personnel. [OK]
And this file too:
\Bin\MediaPlayer.ocx failed to register
then it said that it installed successfully.
Run the application.
Enter Admin information. hit checkmark;
DVC2.04 had encountered a problem and needs to close
EventType : clr20r3 P1 : dvc2.0.exe P2 : 2009.3.10.2 P3 : 49b64a01
P4 : system.windows.forms P5 : 2.0.0.0 P6 : 4889dee7 P7 : 199c
P8 : 2 P9 : system.io.filenotfoundexception
I'm going to try installing it again...don't know what else to do at this point!

Finally got the 2.04 software installed.
I uninstalled what got installed and reinstalled the 2.04. Unfortunately, none of my previous settings were carried over...this sucks.
I am now having a problme when adding a camera, it mistakenly identified it as a DCS-920, when it is a DCS-G900 (It correctly identified my other 2 DCS-G900 cameras) And it identified my DCS-920 as a DCS-G900. Plus it isn't accepting the admin username and password. It keeps on giving me the error, ModelName incorrect! Would you like to replace with: <blank> [Yes] [No]
Plus one of the cameras is not accepting my username and password...I'm entering the admin username and password for the DCS-920 and it is giving me:
Parameter setup error: HW account/password may be incorrect of does not have administrative privilege [OK]
this is the DCS-920 that the software is insisting that it is a DCS-G900

BTW, the 5300 still doesn't work with D-View 2.04

The issue with it mistaking you DCS-G900 for a 920 does the software see the camera at its DHCP address or default IP address. Are both cameras showing the same IP address?
For the DCS-5300 do you have the latest firmware on the camera?

I have the cameras natted through my router and I am accessing them from outside my network using the natted address...I entered the URL to my router and the port number that is natted to the camera's static IP. The router is also natting to the same port on the camera, ie. www.mysite.com, external port 8022 is natted to 192.168.2.22 port 8022. Each camera has a static IP and it's own separate port. (192.168.2.21 uses port 8081, .22 uses 8082, .23 uses 8083 and so on.
These cameras were properly recognized in the older version of the software and IPView SE shows the cameras correctly. Only D-View 2.04 is having problems.
As for my 5330, Here is the firmware version from the Status page for the camera:
Firmware Version : 1.06
