Ok, so I have this footage taken from a site that runs with the D-link D-viewcam 2.0.3 software. I can view all the files that we need converted to avi, but after I select the start/end points and hit convert, it creates a 0 byte avi file and the software just hangs, no errors appear, no progress bars nothing that any normal application would produce when working on file conversions, just sitting there with the convert button as the only thing that is not greyed out.
I have tried all 3 codecs for conversion and they all result in the same manner. I have found a couple of 3rd party conversion applications, but they tend to do the same thing. Bottom line is that I have no way to convert these files into something that I can present to a court as evidence.
I need to find either a working 3rd party conversion tool or a way to get this software to work correctly.
Any help would be appreciated. I have uninstalled and reinstalled this software twice now with the same results on a windows xp system. I have also attempted to do the same conversion by installing the D-view on a vista 32 bit business edition machine as well as the converters and I have the same result, hang and no conversion. I could understand if the files wouldn't play in the software that the issue maybe corrupt files, but that is not the case.
Anyone?

Does the video playback in full using the D-ViewCam playback? What method of recording was used? If you create a manual recording right now see if you can convert that to .avi please.

V2.04 and V2.05 have some issues when generating on Windows 7... So get the new V3.0, and you will be amazed.
