Have router going and keep losing internet connection. See others have same problem. Also when I log into my ip address to make changes it keeps logging me out and i have to re-enter password.
Also I keep getting this error: " connection to server was reset while page was loading The network link was interrupted while negotiating a connection"
I'm going to try and do firmware updates before I decide to return it.
Could some outline process I need to take in order to properly update router firmware.
Thanks

upgraded to new firmware 2.02 and everything seems to be working better. No dropped connections as of yet.

Read the thread(s) on "DNS Relay". You'll get the most "up-time" (reliability) by disabling that feature.

The Dir-825 user's guide explains how to use the Dir-825 as an access-point. You'd probably be best-off consulting the Linksys WRT54G manual, but basically, you probably just disable all gateway/router functions, and use the WRT54G like a hub/switch.

Router still running good so far. My only problem is I can't get my laptop to connect to network.
Says I have limited or no access. Showing me a weird ip of 169.xxx.xxx.xxx. When I originally did setup disk it was working but going back and manually setting it up as suggested I'm sure I've missed something.
I enabled mac filtering and assigned passwords. I guess it's possible that I've entered passwords improperly.
I will have to disable mac addressing and remove passwords and then see if it communicates.
I did ipconfig/all on my desktop and it says ip routing is disabled and on my laptop is says enabled. Could this be part of problem.
My knowledge is very limited on networking. Any other suggestions as to what may have missed?
Thanks for taking time to help.

ok. verified it's not the mac address or passwords.

Hard-wired or wireless?
If hard-wired, do you see blinking lights where you plug-in to your laptop?
If wireless, what network adapter and what driver?
