Hello,
I have seen that there is still no solution for the problem with shareport and the router DLink dir655. (in something like 4 month).
As it seems that DLink can't reproduce the problem, shouldn't the router be considered as having a problem? Is there a possibility to exchange it for a new one with firmware 1.21 (RMA as the router is not working as it should and DLink doesn't have the problem) ;D.
Perhaps with a router that has the problem, DLink could search for a solution?
It is really boring to have to reboot the router once every two days (if I am lucky, sometimes more). After that, I have to click on Connect in the utility on the computer that needs to work.
Thank you
Marc

Same thing here :( It's a shame.

I posted this in the Shareport forum, I hope it helps.
I went into the setup under network settings and unchecked the "enable DNS relay" box and then reset the router. Shareport has stayed connected and I have been able to print for 5 days without a reset. Shareport has never stayed connected for more than a few hours before. I did this on a suggestion in another forum to get my Directv TV Apps to work with my D-Link dir-655 router. It fixed that problem and also fix my problem with shareport. I hope this helps others fix their shareport connection problem.

I visited dslreports.com.
Many people said unchecking 'enable DNS relay' fixes the connection drop.
Based on how the function works,
the firmware program doesn't seem to correctly free the memory in 'DNS relay' function, I guess.
Thus, it might fix the shareport problem -- shareport works just after rebooting but fails after
a while -- too.
Let me try your suggestion, and let you know if the remedy fixes the shareport problem.

2 days after DNS relay off, so far so good . ;D
I hope Shareport to keep working OK.

Oh... No....
It stopped working.
DNS relay off doesn't fix the shareport problem! >:(

There is absolutely no link imaginable between DNS relay and Shareport functionality in the router, this 'fix' has been made up by some n00bs who are as blind as a bat when it comes to the internals of a router. This impossibility has been posted numurous times by some more tech oriented people (including myself) but the self appointed 'experts' will target these more educated opinions with laughter and personal rants. So everybody is still hunting ghosts...
