BETA firmware is available at ftp://FTP2.DLINK.COM/PRODUCTS/COVR-2202/REVA/BETA/COVR2200Ax_FW106b02%280810172120%29.bin (ftp://FTP2.DLINK.COM/PRODUCTS/COVR-2202/REVA/BETA/COVR2200Ax_FW106b02%280810172120%29.bin)
Also now posted to the main D-Link support site: 8/19/2020

This is to fix the guest network broadcast when disabled (Bridge/AP mode). Let us know of any issues or any fixes. Make sure you update all your 2202 nodes.
-
Has anyone here tried it yet? I’m not feeling real motivated to after the 1.05 beta performed so poorly. If Ethernet backhaul works more reliably with this FW, I’m eager to hear it.
-
Something to try and see. I won't have any time to check on this. Maybe next week if I can find some time.
-
Guest WiFi is fixed in Bridge(AP) mode. ;D
Still now way of changing from Bridge(AP) mode back to Router mode in the A Point UI with out having to do a factory reset then setup from scratch again. >:(
Will get it setup for main host router on my main network and see if anything else pops up. ;)

Wired speed is good with Windows 10 PC:

Mac Book Pro 2018 OSX 10.4.6 wireless speed results at A point:

iPhone 6sP iOS 13.6 wireless speed results at A point:

iPhone and Mac Book wireless speed results at B point that is ethernet connected to a DGS-105 Gb LAN switch:

I think speeds should be better at B point when Ethernet connected. :-\
So Guest mode is fixed in Bridge mode however when I connect the B point, wireless or wired to the A point, it broadcasts dlink guest even though it's disabled on the A Point. The A Point doesn't do this. :-\

Both A and Points were factory reset after FW updates and setup from scratch.
-
No more A Point crashes as seen in v1.05. System has been online since yesterday and working well aside the Guest Network being broadcast.
-
When guest network is being broadcast, can you connect to it? Is it open or is WPA/WPA2 in effect?
-
I can connect, I get a 192.168.118.something address and the SSID is NOT secure. It's in the open.

-
Beta Firmware installed, can confirm dlink-guest is visible and unsecure even though turned off on setup page.
-
Hey Dave. Thanks for the update. I already reported it back so hopefully they can fix it...quickly.
-
Using an iPhone to check wireless. the guest disappeared when updating my B unit. But now its back and shows as secured, I tried to connect with the password I had put in way back when we were testing these but it says I can't join network. It seems to appear and disappear from my Networks list.
-
Try a factory reset on the A and Point and setup from scratch. Can use a new SSID name and PW.
Also test to see if the guest network is coming from both A and B point or just the B Point if you please. ;)
-
Also noticed that in the QOS engine, the IPs listed on the connected clients list do not match the actual IPs that are on the DHCP connected clients list.
-
Thanks for checking that. I didn't check this as I don't use QoS much anymore. IF you can take a screen capture of the connected clients list and QoS and send it to Greenbay42 for reference.
-
I did a reset and IPs are now matching in both locations. Will keep an eye it has addresses release and renew themselves.

You might try this build:
COVR-2202 - BETA Firmware 1.06B03

Anyone know if there is a way to disable WPA/WPA2 (TKIP) and force WPA2 (AES) and above only on this build ?
-
Let me guess. iOS 14?
I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.
Link> Tech Support Contact Information (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?board=635.0)
We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

There is not a way. I do not see this model on the list of "going to get fixed".
-
Is COVR EOL? Ugh I wish I had bought something else. I won’t be coming back to D-Link any time soon.
-
Yes the COVR-2202 was discontinued in October. Support ends in 2023.
