Title: Torrent Support?!
Post by: vdpd2005 on August 26, 2009, 06:01:58 PM
I know that some NAS devices can download torrents so I don't have to keep my computer running 24/7. Looking at the reviews of this thing at newegg:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=22-155-009&SortField=2&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=100&SelectedRating=-1&PurchaseMark=&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&Keywords=%28keywords%29&Page=2 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=22-155-009&SortField=2&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=100&SelectedRating=-1&PurchaseMark=&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&Keywords=%28keywords%29&Page=2)

Some say it has torrent support. But I don't see it in the devices "product page." Does anyone have this feature? I think it'd be very useful.

Torrents are supported in the next release of firmware or you can grab the beta version from the BETA! section of these forums.

Well thanks for the tip. I now have the beta firmware installed, as well as the P2P app.

I don't get how to use it though. I went to ADVANCED>>ADD-ONS. The P2P app appears under "Add-On Summary." I then click on the play button for Start...but nothing happens! I don't see any P2P options anywhere else in the menus. How does it work for you?

Once you have started the Add-On, you can access the Torrent section by clicking Logout, then typing in your username and clickon the Downloads button on the main login instead of the Configuration button.
