I have DGL-4500 and Netgear ReadyNAS NVX. The problem is when doing transfers to NAS, everything is fine and fast. But when doing transfers from NAS to PC, speed is extremely slow.
I have narrowed this down to DGL-4500 by doing the following:
- Connected NAS directly to PC, fast transfers both ways
- Connected NAS using Netgear router, fast transfers both ways
- Connected NAS using Linksys router, fast transfers both ways
- Reset DGL-4500 to default settings, slow transfers from NAS to PC
Jumbo packets are disabled on NAS and it is quite clear that DGL-4500 is the bottleneck here. The router is HW rev A2, running 1.12 firmware.
What are the settings I can check to ensure transfers are fast both ways using the router in the middle?

Well, after having two options of
- updating to 1.21 firmware with no option of going back
- returning DGL-4500 and keeping Netgear
I decided to give 1.21 a try. Suprisingly, it worked and resolved the issue with slow transfer and now things seem to be working.
So if anyone from D-Link is reading this, they might want to contact Netgear (www.readynas.com) so they will put DGL-4500 on their compatibility list. Although not many netgear users post here, I know there is quite a negative response to D-Link routers because of the above issue.
