I'm hoping they're narrowing down the root of the problem with 1.3x, but until then I think it would be very handy to have a new, temporary function in the firmware--scripted reboots. With software, it's not often difficult to schedule a restart of the software at certain intervals. If I could set my router to automatically reboot every 24 hours at 3am, I think it would be smooth sailing until the 1.3x problem is identified and fixed. It's not an ideal solution and would be a pretty sloppy way to implement a "fix", but for the time being it sure would be handy!
Who, in the know, can shed some light on this possibility? The router already has scheduling abilities and can automatically reboot when upgrading firmware as well...I would think the talented programmers could write some quick code to add a new option under Tools>System. I bet the loud voices would be quieted down a hefty amount if there's a way to at least manage our issue, temporarily. We don't seem to be coming up with any new information to help the DIR-655 production team, other than a new way to complain each time we get frustrated.

If there is a "temporary fix" provided it will be unlikely from dlink team but from one of us, disgruntled users of dlink's products.

Hi,
So here's the work around.... Just plug your router into one of thos "Lamp" timers (for when you go on vacation) and set it to power off at 3:00 AM and power back on at 3:15 AM (assuming they have some minimum time increment).
Unless you need your router logs preserved... this should do the job.
Done.

Sounds like a perfect work around.
