Title: CAPTCHA not Viewable On Safari
Post by: !!!!clarkkent on August 27, 2009, 10:40:32 PM
Hello!

Aside from using another Internet browser, what else can I do if my Safari browser won't display the graphical authentication code (CAPTCHA)?

Probably not the answer you are looking for, but you could login with IE (once) and disable CAPTCHA.

Yeah!  CAPTCHA is a "pain" in most browsers, other than IE.  Even now, D-Link has released newer firmwares for the CAPTCHA enabled routers with the option turned off be default.

I have it turned off on mine. From what I have read it was added because there was some male ware looking for routers that were left at default settings. The male ware would try to log in from your PC using the default passwords. Once in it would take over your router and open up a connection from the WAN side. IMHO once you log in and set a strong password for the admin function and wireless encryption its no longer needed and can be turned off.
