Hi All,
Need some help here. I have a small network in my house. I was running on a WRT54G which I just replaced with a DIR-825.
The DLink is great but the WDS isn't supported by the Airport Express. I need the WDS so that the ethernet port will be enabled as a network jack where I can connect my Xbox (XBMC) and view the videos from the shares on my computer.
I wanted to setup the WRT54G since the WDS works with the Airport Express but I can't seem to figure out how to configure the machine so that the Airport Express will have access to the computer on the Dlink router.
Currently I have this setup:
DIR-825
INTERNET - CABLE MODEM
PORT1 - PC
PORT2 - PC
PORT3 - PC
PORT4 - WRT54G
DHCP - ON
AUTO IP
WRT54G
INTERNET - DLINK
WIRELESS NETWORK (different ssid from above)
DHCP - OFF
AUTO IP
Airport Express
INTERNET - WDS
PORT - XBOX (XMBC)
AUDIO - RECEIVER
DHCP - OFF
FIXED IP
If there is a way to WDS the Airport Express with the Dlink that would be ideal. If not maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
Note: If I connect my machine to the WRT54G I do have access to the internet. So I guess the only problem is bridging the two networks.
Thanks in advance!
Nick

Figured it out the Airport Express was connecting fine. The XBOX however was expecting DHCP so I setup XMBC to a static IP.
The WRT54G is setup as 192.168.1.1 and I can access from XBMC my computer at 192.168.0.101.
It was really that simple. I turned off WRT54G DHCP service because I don't want it distributing anything. It's for very manual situations.
Does anyone know of a way to WDS Airport Express directly with the DIR-825. Alternatively is there a Wireless N network extender device that has an Ethernet out port on it, that might be a good solution for connecting my Xbox 360 downstairs.
Thanks, Nick
