Ever since I installed firmware 1.31 and now 1.32 my wired connection stops working occasionally. The only way to really fix it is to unplug the router and let it reset. I have 6 wireless devices connected and none of them seem to have an issue. I've tried just unplugging the wired PC but that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas?

Hi,
Have you tried a different port on the back of the router ? It is not unheard of for a single port to go "bad"....

I have the EXACT same problem, the wireless seems to work fine and can comunicate with other wireless devices but not wired devices. Since my Modem is connected via cable I have to reboot the router every week or two VERY annoying! >:(

Check your logs. I have found this problem and it is related to Securespot.
My log continually shows the following:
Establishing connection w/ filter server: 165.193.79.44:443 (*could be anything near that IP address*)
It says this about every 5 seconds and then reports:
Temporarily disabling http(s) filter server communication for 120 seconds.
And the cycle starts all over
It seems like it never connects to Securespot. I am having horrible performance problems. It fails to connect to sites more often than not.
It all goes back to normal if I deselect Securespot from my router.
It also goes away if I unplug the router for a while. Not just a quick reboot. I shut it off all night last night and it seems to work this morning. Not logging the above lines.

My securespot is already disabled.
My log says this a lot:
Failed configuration authentication attempt by IP address 192.168.0.194
(.194) is my desktop.

Did you enable network filter or access control in your DIR-655? Please check these settings, if you can't access your router, then reset it is the only cure.

i am having the same issues too. i have to unplug the router after a few days. all networked devices stop working, even wireless. got 3 computers, nintendo wii, xbox360, dlink media player, laptop, and a voip phone. after a few days they all fail to be able to talk to each other over the lan or get online.

I'm having the same issues with my router and have had so since at least version 1.21. Every 3 days or so, the network connections slow to a crawl. Unplugging and/or rebooting the router fixes the problem.

FYI... seems that most are disabling DNS relay to solve this issue. Might want to try it out on your end.

It's been 2 weeks since I disabled DNS relay as you advised and sure enough the router lockups/slowdowns etc. have ended!
Thanks for your help.

I tried that and my desktop wouldn't even get an IP address anymore. There was just a checkbox I clicked.

Try rebooting your PC after the change.
