OK, so I just bought a DNS-321 to use primarily as a Media Server for my PS3. I installed a 1TB Western Digital Hard Drive and set everything up with my Macbook (not really great Mac Support, btw, D-Link).
First problem I had was when I mounted the DNS-321 in Snow Leopard it showed the Volume_1 folder but the Shared Folder don't show up (but they do show up in the PS3's XMB). So, after spending a half hour attempting to figure out why I couldn't see these Shared folders, I said, whatever, and changed the folder in the UPNP settings to Volume_1/Media
I threw my copy of Kill Bill, Volume 1 (M4V) ripped with Handbrake onto the DNS-321 into the specified Media Folder. I turned on my PS3. The PS3 definitely saw the DNS-321 as a UPNP Media Server, showed all the shared folders I couldn't see on my Macbook, and then I slid over to Video ---> All Folders ---> Media (the folder I created), and ... Then the PS3 informs me no titles could be found. And I know for a fact Kill Bill is there (and, yes, I went back into the Browser Front and hit "Refresh" for the UPNP server).
So what am I doing wrong?
Couple other details: Downloaded the latest firmware for the DNS-321 (1.02) and my PS3 is running Firmware 3.00

I'm having the same problem with my music files.  ???  Hoping someone will chime in, as I'm sure we have similar type problem/solution.

I also tried using my Xbox 360 and the same result as my PS3. Finds the DNS-321, but neither my designated Media Folder or that M4V of Kill Bill show up.
So I'm at a loss really.

Not an expert here, but I've noticed when I'm stuck at a seemingly empty folder in the XMB, hitting the triangle-marked button for info (on the PS3 controller) lets me list the actual file content...

When you've selected your device, make sure to hit triangle and select "Display All" instead of just hitting X to select it.

Yeah. I've done that. Makes no difference. Displays the proper folder but not the file in the folder. And, as I mentioned upthread, I also tried my 360 and got the same result.
Got to say I am not exactly pleased with the results of my purchase, or D-link's level of support and documentation. I'll keep the DNS-321 around as a file server if I can't get it working with my streaming media devices (mainly because I am kind of loathe to return stuff and drive space is drive space) but I doubt I'll buy anything else branded "D-Link" in the very near future.

				Fixed!
I changed the file extension from .m4v to .mp4, and Kill Bill streams perfectly from the DNS-321 to my PS3. Why? I haven't the foggiest clue since I always thought .M4V and .MP4 were the same thing. I'm happy that I can now use my DNS-321 as intended.
