HI, this is my first router and I have had nothing but problems with it. My wife bought it with a net book she recently purchased, install was easy, but then the router would make my modem restart, not all the time sometime it would be fine for days then the modem would reset 20 times a day if not more. changed the speed to 10 mbps and it seems to help but it would still reset the modem from time to time. If I unhook the router the modem never resets.
I have updated the firmware a month ago and it was working fine.
Now the issue is even more serious, the router does not seem to be communicating with the computer, the internet light stays yellow, nothing was done to the settings and I was the last person to use it. If I bypass the router I have internet connection and I have tested the cables and they are fine. I tried to reset the unit and reload the software and when I get to were I download the software from the CD to the router it can not find/see the router. ? is their anything I should check or can do??

Which lights on the router are illuminated. Is the status light blinking? If you see activity with the lights it probably means its working. Which dlink router revision do you have Rev B or Rev C. Maybe try a different LAN port on the router or another network adapter if possible, or different wireless device. Does your netbook find the router. Make sure it is your router and not your neighbors when connecting wirelessly. Lastly, have you tried to accessing your router. Type 192.168.0.1 in your web browser to see if your router responds.
