Title: Does the DSM 510 stream from the DNS 323

Hello

I have a DNS 323 and I need to know will the DSM 510 media player stream video direct from this, without the need to have a computer running, TIA

Yes it will. Just enable the UPnP AV media server on the DNS-323 and the DSM-510 will see it as an available media server.
