My previous D-Link router died. I had good success with it, so kept it in the family. I set it up myself without any problems. Not so lucky with the DIR-825.
After hours of work over several days, I am at wits end. I have read some of the posts and I know enough to know I do not really know what I am doing. Faking my way through it.
Plugging my cable directly into my cable modem (Comcast) works great, no problems. Installing the DIR-825 for wireless, no problems. Getting my LAN to work for my desktop, major problems. I have gotten it to work for seconds at a time, then it dies.
Desperately seeking help :o

:D Updating the firmware may have solved it. My desktop has stayed connected to the internet for several minutes now. Hurray.
For those reading, note that you need to long-reset the router and reboot everything (including the computer), so if you already have stuff typed into 2 laptops and 2 tivos......you may want to write some stuff down :)
