Title: Reformatting Issues
Post by: SnB on September 15, 2009, 09:04:41 AM
Wondering if anyone can help me, as I am completely stumped on this issue. I just reformatted my PC, which is running windows XP. I have the D Link DIR-655 router and DWA-552 Xtreme Desktop Adapter. I have installed the adapter and when I try connecting to the internet I get "Limited or No Connectivety". I have tried logging into the router via IE but it will not work. I have also tried allowing my PC to connect to the router by trying to set up a connection over the other computer in the house but it says the range of the IP is incorrect.

Please help

Did you give you PC a IP address? (192.168.0.x). You PC may be pulling an APIPIA address (169.254.0.1 to 169.254.255.254) If it is pulling an APIPAI it will not work. Try hooking up wired and see what happens

you may also want to make sure that *if* you are using the windows connection manager, that you have Service Pack 2 installed, you may have your network setup for encryption that Windows XP doesnt support w/o SP2.
