Title: Need help: DIR 655 LAN Connection stops working
Post by: binaryhat on September 15, 2009, 02:50:26 PM
hello,

After a day or so my router's lan ports will not work.  I try resetting my nic ip address but that doesn't help.  I can access the internet wirelessly.  Also, I can access the router's settings wirelessly only when the LAN port is non-responsive.  I have bittorrent running but i don't think thats the problem.  This problem started within the last 2 weeks.  Had the router for 2+ months.  What can I do to troubleshoot the problem?

Firmware Version: 1.32NA
Hardware Version: A4

You are not alone.  Take a look at some other posts here.  It seems at least half of them are complaining about this problem after upgrading the firmware to 1.32 and D-Link is unable to solve it at this point.

I have the same issue as others.  When I look at the log on the DIR-655, I see many many messages showing similar to the below:

Dropped packet from xxx.xxx.x.xxx to xxx.xxx.x.xxx (IP protocol 17) as unable to create new session

Anyone else seeing these messages in the log?

If you don't use Shareport, you can try turning it off in Setup->USB settings. It works for me I think torrent for a few days already.
