Title: Please list music tracks in correct order
Post by: panner13 on September 20, 2009, 04:01:43 PM
I am not sure if this is the right place, but I was told to post my issue on the beta forum.  It's about song ordering.  It appears that the DNS-323 needs to have the track number listed on the ID tag for it to be sorted correctly with PS3s and other devices.  For example, the title data on the ID tag must have 01-Song Name, 02-Song Name etc for them to be ordered correctly when viewing by album.  The DNS-323 does not use the track number when sorting.  Here is a link to the topic:

I have seen the same thing and have done some more investigation. When I installed a UPnP client on my laptop, songs also display in the wrong order. It seems to be related to id3 tags not being seen by the client. In facty, the only tag that is visible is track name.
I've also noticed that the upnp service runs at 100% pretty much constantly. Is there anything that can be done to stop it hogging resources?
Anything that can be done to help with this would be appreciated.

The topic linked above has some more info on this issue.  I am hoping that there is time for a fix to be slipped into the next firmware release.

The 100% UPNP issue seems to be resolved in the latest beta firmware, so thanks for that.

The UPnP AV media server will server files by file name not ID3 tag information.
