Title: New 3.11NA Firmware on rev C Ruined my Alarm System and my Day - Beware VOIP SIP
Post by: Just_Bill on September 20, 2009, 06:56:08 PM
I updated my DIR-615 to the latest firmware. Little did I know I was going to ruin my day, my week and now a couple weeks.

My Alarm company NextAlarm.com lets me use a ABN (It's a Linksys PAP2)

A couple hours after I updated the firmware my Alarm started beeping with a trouble code. The code was a comm error.

This is where I started to learn about SIP....

I tried lots of things and finally I swapped out my DIR-615 for an old Linksys G I had laying around. Everything started working great! Put the DIR-615 back and it went offline again.

I have tired Enabling SIP in the ALG settings. I disabled it. I opened ports, I closed them. I tried everything.

Right now that PAP2 is sitting in the DMZ. Even that does not work!!!! How that can be is beyond me.

I want to stress that everything worked great before the firmware upgrade. I wanted to downgrade and was amazed to find out that I can't. Oh man. Now this is starting to Suck.  :-X

If anyone has any Ideas I would be willing to try anything. Even if it runs a chance of bricking my router, I could care less.

Thanks!

seems like the revisions over at D Link seem to have a bad habit of rendering things useless. Might want to label them 3.XX(S)oftware (B)omb
