Post by: AAZ on September 24, 2009, 07:34:25 AM
Hi, all!

When i trying to connect to switch with RS232, I can see boot and initialisation process, but I can't type username and password. No keyboard action. Whats' wrong? And how can i reset password on the switch?

Thanks a lot.

Lets get typing working first.

Do you see any garbled test after boot before login?
Do you get the login prompt?
Do you get a new line when you hit enter?

Are your serial parameters the same as below?
Baud Rate: 115200
Data Bits: 8
Parity: None
Stop Bits: 1
Flow Control: None
Terminal Type: VT-100

Then if all the above is true, you have me stumped.  Call in to support and we will see about getting you a new switch or figuring out the issue here.

Truthfully, I don't know offhand if there is an end-user reset feature on that switch (it may depend on FW ver).  Call it in, they will know for sure, and can get you an RMA to get it reset if it doesn't.
