Hi all,
We have a new laptop that we're trying to connect wirelessly to the DIR655. No security is enabled, the SSID is broadcasting, visible, basically open to the world. Other laptop connects fine and settings are all the same as the new laptop. Desktops (both wireless & wired) also connect without problem.
The new laptop sees the wireless, but when told to connect, it says "waiting for network" for several minutes, then nothing.
The laptop runs XP Pro SP3 with Intel Wireless Wifi Link 5100. Any guidance on what to check would be much appreciated.

Try check if the MAC filtering on your router is turn On, if so turn it Off. That is on the Advance tab and under the Network filter.

Could be a known problem after an upgrade to XP SP3. Make sure the Windows "Wired AutoConfig" service is Started and set to Automatic. See Method 1 at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953650 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/953650). You'll need to be logged into a Windows Administrator account to do this.
