Title: Can't upgrade firmware
Post by: swank on December 22, 2007, 11:25:45 AM
Hey....I've been trying unsuccessfully to upgrade the firmware on my DIR-655, but I keep getting notification that it might be the wrong firmware or the router's too busy. (I'm hoping the firmware will fix wireless security issues I'm having, as in I can't get it to work)

I'm at A1 v1.02 right now. I've tried everything from jumping directly to v1.11, to going incrementally up from 1.04, but none of them will take.

Any ideas???

Are you sure that you are Tools>Firmware>Firmware Upgrade menu? I saw a similar error message when I inadvertantly tried to upload a file to the System>System Settings>Restore Configuration From File menu. I chose the firmware file instead of the gateway settings file inadvertantly.

reset the unit to factory defaults first.
use the 1.11. it's better.
