Title: PC-Router Wired Connection Dropping
Post by: slug on October 05, 2009, 01:30:03 PM
I just bought a brand new DIR-825 and have had some issues getting it set up.

I ran the CD and the router could connect an XP PC via a wired connection and a Vista Laptop via wireless. The problem is that the PC-Router connection consistently drops within a few minutes, to the point that I cannot ping the router (192.168.0.1) or use ipconfig release/renew. To make things interesting the wireless connection to the laptop is perfect even when the PC is stuck.

I have been reading similar threads and I have a few options to try, however I am curious about the different version numbers for Firmware that people are using on these boards.

Whats the difference between the 1.0/1.11/1.12 and the 2.0/2.02 versions?

I am having similar problems with my less-than-six-month-old DIR-825. Today it suddenly stopped working with all wired connections; wireless are fine. We have checked all cables and settings.
