Hello everybody.
I'm just set up my D-Link DFL-210 Firewall with PPTP VPN. The settings are quite similar to the settings above (In this thread, http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=8404.0 (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=8404.0)) other then the different naming. My problem now is that I can't have multiple VPN connections at one time. Everytime another user connects to the VPN, the previous user will be disconnected. Can someone help me with this?
Thanks

Are those users behind the same NAT IP?
Also I split the topic as this is a new issue and I don't think the OP for that thread wants to get e-mails on this issue. Additionally this makes your case easier to find in the future if someone if having a similar problem.

No it will not be the same. Will that make any difference?
Thanks

Yes, since PPTP only looks at the (public) IP of endpoints you can't have multiple endpoints behind the same NAT IP.
Do we have multiple people with the same user name (and is it set to allow multiple connections for 1 user)?
Is your PPTP Pool big enough?
Are your Timeouts (if applicable) too short?
What I am trying to say is there is no obvious reason for this problem, we need to take a closer look at the specifics of your configuration and testing.

Hi Fatman,
I'm having the same problem now. Two systems on a network behind one public IP are trying to connect to a DFL-800. When one connects the other immediately gets disconnected. I assume the origional connection is being dropped because multiple connections are not allowed from the same public IP. Is there any way of allowing this as it is a requirement that we have multiple personel in the office on the same network be able to vpn in.
Thanks,
Simon

Not with PPTP, IPsec based connections can use alternate identities though.

I don't understand though. Our other networks are using Ciso / Linksys routers and their pptp servers work fine with multiple clients from the same IP.
Is this a restriction in the DFL-800's design or is it something that can be worked around?

As I know, this issue was solved in 2.26. Topicstarter, do you use the lastest version of f/w?
