hi,
after hours of testing with different email-accounts i've found a problem with the characters used in the password.
i've changed my password on my email account to letters and numbers only...without any special characters. after that i updated the settings on my nas with a very suprising and positive email test!! *strrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrike* :D
to be sure i finaly changed the password back to the old one...ieeekkk...failure.
it looks like a bug for me.
i hope i can help someone outside with this frustrating email alert problem.

What email server are you using and what firmware are you running? Have you tried the beta code?

i'm using firmware 1.06 (with fun-plug 0.5) and tried strato and gmx (german email-provider).
...and i'm not interested in trying a beta-firmware on the most important device in my network.
