Title: PS3 internet issues
Post by: agentzero419 on October 09, 2009, 11:25:59 PM
I have my PS3 Connected to a Dlink DIR655. I have comcast internet of 30Mbps. But when connected through the router (wired connection) and I use the PS3s test connection feature it said my download speed was 8.7 Mbps and upload was 2.5 Mbps. But when I connect the PS3 to the modem directly I get really high download and upload speeds.

Downloading a demo takes around 20 mins. I called Dlink and they weren't much help and they told me to call Sony and ask them for the PS3s DNS number. Any one have the same problem?  All settings on the router are on default factory settings.

Not sure on this..but....when u look at your netowrk map of all devices attached to ur network ( assuming  using windows....NETWORK & SHARING CENTER...then SHOW FULL MAP)

The look at icon for ps3..rt mouse click..see properties...you should be able to see ur ps3 DNS  number.....

Not positive about this as i dont have a PS3.....yet!  ;D
