Hello,
One of the benefits of using Windows Media Extender is keep all my DVDs on HDD in electronic library. Unfortunately my DSM 750 can't recognize DVDs when navigating to Movies menu. I have same folder added into both Movies and Videos libraries and 750 can see content of DVD folder and play as set of separate video files - no DVD menu, settings etc.
When I am ruining Windows Media Center on PC it shows DVDs in Movies menu and can play DVD as DVD (menu, settings, etc.).
Does anybody able to play DVD on extender?
Thanks,
~vg

Nope. Microsoft has removed the DVD function on extenders. When connecting to MCE using an extender you simply do not get the DVD option.

Thanks for the answer.
But according to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-problems-with-a-Windows-Media-Center-Extender-device# (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Troubleshoot-problems-with-a-Windows-Media-Center-Extender-device#) it's not possible to play DVDs inserted into DVD drive (which is expected). So, it should be possible for DVD stored on disk. Shouldn't it? Should I open support case for investigation? I definitely want to see DVD on extender - this is my primary supposed usage scenario.

No. It is like this on all extenders. I don't know why but they do not have this option on extenders as well as DVD playback. Extender devices only support playback of video files so the data files on DVDs are not support on the extender device so I think that is why they have such a limitation but I am not sure.
