Well if I understand what you're saying correctly then you just acquired the dgl-4500 router. If you can return it to the point of sale for a refund then I'd box it up and run it back right now. After you get a refund then purchase a netgear wndr3700 and enjoy a problem free gaming experience at home. I'm sure this will earn me more negative karma but oh well. The truth hurts sometimes just like my experience with the 1.2x fw hurt my networking here at home.

thats not even a gaming router ive tried tons of other routers and dlink one is the best so far but it still lags i rather not take my chances with another router :-\

I'm sure in time once all the bugs are gone the DGL 4500 could be a good solid router but right now we have to play the waiting game until things are fixed. If you willing to wait you are ok if not better to get a replacement kinda why I'm using the DGL 4300 right now as my 4500 is boxed up.

DGL 4500 getting a another beta on the same firmware next week.

wat willl the beta do

Most likely fix the lock up problem that people are having. I'm sure it will fix other things as well but we just have to wait and see.

What firmware are you using? Also, what did you mean that your ethernet cable can almost reach your xbox 360?
If you're using the 360 wireless adapter, you can expect lag on Halo regardless of your ISP or router.

i was just saying to give an idea of how far away the xbox is from the router

Get the Netgear WNDR3700. You won't regret it.

i would turn the firewall off on the modem and try playing again if u dont lag u need to unblock the protocols on the modem still if that dont fix it unblock the same protocols on the router to thats what i did the only time i lag is when cox screws with things but try that if u need the protocols just look for it on the xbox.com site they should have them listed if u cant find them i will get them off of mine for you

The 4500 cannot maintain a stable connection over wired or wireless, until this is fix halo 3 will always lag using this router.

Just log into your 4500 & set the DMZ for the XBOX network, & make sure the xbox IP is correct. I use this router 4 all my gaming & as a network Admin & computer company owner i can tell U this is a great router. One of the best home class routers on the market. Cant beat D-Link, just take some time to learn about the routers options and basic networking.

Heres a like to open your NAT if it is not already.......

I haven't seen any problems with XBL, HALO3 or ODST since B3 FW was applied on the 19th. My 360 is not in the DMZ, however Gaming and Game fuel options are enabled and all IP addresses are static. No lag time accept the crappy ones coming from other players or the Bungie servers which seem to be noticed here and there. Been up since the 19th.

I run my xbox 360 wired, and i get no lag. The only time i lag is when my P2P has pegged my upload bandwidth.
