I am going to upgrade my DIR-628 to version 1.20, the release note says "Note: This firmware does not allow downgrading to pre-1.2x. Please save your configuration file before the upgrade. After the upgrade, please reset to factory default, then upload the configuration file image." Is this true in practice?
I would like to find out peoples' experience of upgrading and using the configuration file from version 1.13. I have lot of MAC filters and port forwarding information to enter and do not feel like entering them again. Can the configuration file used for Version 1.22NA?
Thanks in advance.

I have done this but you may have the restore a few times. That is one possible reason why they suggest to re-do the configuration.
Also, you need to note that as of firmware 1.2xx, the stability of the 628 could be lost, especially if the 'DNS Relay" or "Advanced DNS" features are used.
