how do i change my ip address using my d-link dir-655?  i have dhcp cable broadband internet connection.
note, the ip address i want to change is what websites see.

Hi,

Are you referring to your External IP that your ISP provides ?  Normally only your ISP can change those....  You can trying powering off your modem for like 3 hours and see if it comes back with a new IP...Comcast here seems to keep me on a given IP for a long time even tho I dont pay for static IP....


many places show you your external IP... like  IPChicken.com

figured it out.  go to setup > manual setup > change mac address.  there, change last digit/letter of mac address, then > save settings > status. there release > power off router and modem for a minute or two > power on and log back into router > status > renew.
