Post by: usefulhelp on October 21, 2009, 05:51:51 AM
If your like me and you find DCS-920 not connecting to your router/network. Here is what to do to configure it.

Install the d-link wizard for discovering the camera on yoru portable/desktop.

- Change the ip address of your network on your laptop / desk top pc to 196.198.0.123 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0 / no default gateway needed.

- re-boot pc ( may not be necessary )
- connect the DCS-920 directly to the PC
- Press the re-set button locate don teh side of the camera - hold for 10secs
- start the wizard

You will find it has discovered the camera at ip address 196.168.0.20.

Now you can use the wizard to change the camera settings to DHCP etc

Re-set you pc network details.
Re-boot and connect your camera to the router.

Shouldn't the laptop/desktop PC be changed to 196.168.0.123. I am pretty sure otherwise it won't work.

Or even 192.168.0.123?   ;)
