I have just purchased an older pc. It has the DWL-G132 D-Link AirPlus XTREME G.
I have been trying to get on the internet for days :'(
Do I have to have a D-Link router? .. or is any ISP's Modem/router compatible.
My pc shows I have a strong signal. However the dreaded Limited Connectivety shows and I cannot for the life of me get them to talk to each other. It shows the 168 ip which I know is just the windows fake one and not an internet one. I have tried manually inputing the 192 one but it always reverts to 168
I think I have tried absolutely everything from modem resets and cylcing to almost losing all my hair. I think I am close what the heck am i missing.
Please tell me it is not a D-Link router.
Any advice is appreciated

Hi,
You don`t(shouldn't) need an other router... Make sure your new computer is set for automatic DHCP. If you have other computer connected to your modem try to log to it and check security like MAC filtering. Did you try to reinstall the drivers?
Are you on vista or XP?

cdnjan,
I am in the same boat. Have you been able to find a solution yet?
Thanks
