Title: DIR-655 not working with iMac
Post by: Svytch on October 23, 2009, 06:06:21 AM
Just bought and got an iMac with Snow Leopard 10.6 and can't connect to my DIR-655, either directly (preferred) or via AirPort. The DIR-655 works fine with my PC, both wirelessly and directly.

I've contacted Mac directly and my ISP twice, and no one could fix the problem.

Connection path: cable modem > VOiP box > DIR-655 > iMac. When I connect either the cable modem or the VOip box directly to the Mac, it works fine.

I read some threads in MacIntosh Owners Start Here and it sounds like the DIR-655 is not compatible with Mac (but I'm not exactly sure if I understood that correctly).

So, could someone please tell me if a) the DIR-655 will work with my iMac, and if so b) how??

PS: My apologies if the answer to my question is on this forum already but I couldn't find it. If so, just point me to the thread. :)

Found the answer: I had to turn off the MAC filtering. Now everything works, both the wireless network and the iMac with the router plugged directly into it. :)
