Title: DCS-5300G Color goes wonky
Post by: NiteCourt on October 23, 2009, 07:58:49 AM
I have a DCS-5300G RevB installed in a shop.  I have it set to take a still picture every 15 minutes from 7:00AM to 4:30PM.  When I first plugged in the camera (over wireless G) the picture color was good all day long.  The next day when it started taking snapshots again the color was all orangey and the whites were washed out.  I thought maybe it had to do with the lighting but it continued through the day.  I found that if I unplug the camera and plug it back in the colors return to normal.  It seems to be a problem with the camera itself since nothing was changed in the camera setup.  It does this everyday.  What could the problem be?

Thanks.

Could be a heat buildup problem... I use mine on a stand to help with some airflow.

Is the cam enclosed or cooling holes blocked by dust?  Might run a light vacuum over it...

Are you running the latest 2.05 firmware?

Are you running the latest 2.05 firmware?

That depends if he's running a Rev B2 camera... I have a B1 and can't use 2.05 (according to the website!)

Which version do you have, NiteCourt?
