Hello!
I have the following problem:
My UPnP-Server (Firmware 1.07, activated, root) is neither recognized by my PC, nor by my WAP-8500 (Teac).
Anyone who can help?
-
does it appear on your network at all?
can you map a drive to it from your PC?
-
Yes, everything works perfectly: iTunes-Server, Samba,... work as they should!
Only the UPNP-Server is not visible in my devices.
I tried to disable/enable it, rebooted, etc. --> nothing helps :(
-
How are you trying to access the UPnP AV media server on your PC?
-
As i've written before: Neither it is not seen on my network, nor can i access it directly :(
I've tried it with different pc's...
-
What application are you using to access the UPnP AV media server with your PC? What operating system are you running on your PC?
-
I've tried with the following combinations:
- PC, Windows 7, Windows Media Player 11, Winamp, TwonkyMedia 1.2
- PC, Windows Vista, same Players as above
- PC, Windows XP, same Players as above
--> DNS is not seen as UPNP-Server in my network (every other application on DNS runs fine)
- Teac WAP-8500
- Noxon iRadio
- Samsung DLNA-TV
- Popcorn-Hour
So i simply can say: the UPNP-Server on my DNS does not seem to work... (other UPNP-Servers in my network, such as Popcorn-Hour and Twonky-Server on one of the PCs are seen and work properly...)

I assume you are referring to Windows Media player 12 running Win7 I dont believe WMP11 has a feature to support UPnP AV media servers such as this WMP12 has a feature called "Other Librarys" which is what I think you may be referring to. The UPnP AV media server on the DNS-323 seems to work with just about any media device I have tried it with that supports UPnP AV media servers. Please provide me the setups for accessing a UPnP AV media server in WMP12.

Since the Windows7 PC is not mine (a laptop borrowed from a friend) and the main "clients" should be the WAP-8500 in my living room and the iRadio in my bathroom, this would not help me at all :(
I think i have to change to another nas that fits to my needs :(
Thanks anyway for your help.
-
i have a feeling its a problem with the router (or it's settings), and has nothing to do with the NAS.
-
no it's not.
i've tried to connect directly and the other servers (popcorn, windows with twonky) run fine ...

No further ideas why it won't work?
