Title: How to do QoS

Hello guys,

I have an application that is really traffic intensive (surveillance camera) and another that need to have low latency (RDP).  Is it possible to do some QoS to put high priority on RDP protocol and low priority for other services?

I tried to do traffic shaping.  The only result that I got is to limit traffic for other services.  Put I'm unable to give priority to RDP.  RDP is still slow.

Any idea?

Traffic shaping is the answer, persist with finding the right settings for your environment.  Categorizing RDP is a good start, ensure it ends up on a higher priority.  A bandwidth guarantee for RDP isn't a bad idea, and placing the default level higher than the surveillance level is highly advised.

its a good practice build ip rules specific for each service, in that order you create equivalent traffic shaping rules to classify traffic effectively avoiding leaks, otherwise maybe the rules you create no affect the desired traffic.

If you want to prioritize inbound traffic (sat rules from INTERNET to the local network) you have to invert the pipes on the inbound traffic shaping rule, using upload pipes for the return traffic and download pipes for forward traffic.
