Title: Enable DDNS settings - get timeout error
Post by: neuwirth on October 29, 2009, 10:27:41 AM
I get a timeout error when I try to enable DDNS settings and then save them.  The error says the timeout needs to be between 27 and 672.  Where is this set and how do I correct this?  I used the DDNS feature about a year ago for FTP and never got this message.  The firmware is at 1.07.

I may not have made myself clear.  The exact message I get is "The timeout must be between 24-672."  The only thing I can do is click on OK.  I searched all the screens on the GUI and cannot find any timeout setting.  Does anyone know how to correctly set this timeout and where is it set?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

The old standby may work, reset to defaults and reconfigure. :)

Thanks gunrunnerjohn.

That did the trick.  I can save my settings now.

Sometimes the easy solutions do work. :D

Just as a final point.  I submitted the same question to D-Link suport.  They totally missed the point.  They gave me all kinds of instructions on how to get a URL from DynDns (which I already had) and step by step instructions on how to set up DDNS.  There instructions would have led to the same timeout error.

Thanks again to GunRunnerJohn and the other folks on this forum - a very good resource.
