Title: Bandwidth Problems with card in Windows 7
Post by: thorlord on October 31, 2009, 02:25:46 PM
despite my router (DIR-655) being less than 25 feet from the computer. my adapter has less than 2 bars of signal, my bandwidth between devices is less than 1mbps.

After spending nearly $200 on network equipment, i would expect to have a far greater bandwidth between devices.

i do not believe it is the router, as my laptop has a somewhat decent connection (7mbps, still slow compared to a wired device which receives 25mbps from the internet)

when can we realistically expect a quality 64bit Windows 7 driver?

Disable the service "Computer Browser" in services.msc. This was also causing me to have a wireless speed of 2mbps.

Now i'm at full speed.

Also, it could be the wireless protection your using with your router that is limiting your bandwidth. I believe this card your supposed to be using WPA2.

Hope this helps.
