Please post your feedback regarding this firmware here.
The same issues addressed in the DGL-4500 have been added and resolved with this code.
-
I have been waiting for this firmware for a long time. Installed and working. Update to this post will come in 3 days from me regarding the firmware. ;D
-
I am more interested in knowing if the wireless speeds have improved with this release
-
I hope you'll release this for Europe, too. I need the relay fixed.

-
Downloaded this yesterday, Im getting much higher WAN throughput, finally getting advertised speeds. Im just running in pure default mode, no changes, I just ran the wizard and left every setting, Ill check back later.
-
Running fine the first 20 hours.
DNS-Relay enabled - Advanced DNS disabled
Wireless 5 GHz seems to be a little bit stronger but maybe it is just a feeling.
No issues up to now.
-
!st. your beta firmware does not tell me that it's beta, it just says ver 1.21NA again.instead of 1.21B07
Second it will not show any clients connected to the router in Status/wireless when they are connected.
And each time I flash the firmware it reverts to a new install, it should not overwrite any settings that I have put in period. But considering this is D-Link and you've had this POS router out for over a year, I wouldn't expect you to understand anything

So Far I have not had to do any reboots of my router and everything seems stable. This is a good thing for me since I had to reboot a lot with the official 1.21 firmware.
-
I have been running the beta firmware for 9 days now! I have reversion A2 hardware and I have to say the new firmware is a HUGE improvement over 1.21!! I have never seen my router log 9 days before. I would normally see the router log get to four days then I would have to power cycle the router. Since running the beta firmware, NO power cycles what so ever ;D!! I do not have ANY wan slowdown at all!! Normally after four days the wan would slow down, then stop and I would have to power cycle the router. Now that the major problems are fixed I do have to say that I do have some wireless reboots still though. I know that the router still needs some improvements, but the beta is a MAJOR improvent and step forward in the right direction! I would like to thank Dlink at this time for their efforts and hopfully get all the issues of the DIR-855 fixed over time!
-
I'm glad to see there's been an improvement with this router but some reporting that there are still wireless reboots periodically will prevent me from upgrading the firmware in my router.
-
Not one issue with the new b07NA.
DNS in standard settings with DNS relay turned on.
The WEB GUI seems to respond faster than before.
I do not know whether it is possible to improve performance of 5 GHz wireless ... this is the only thing I would like to see. And perhaps that some firmware programmer enables LAN port in the static routing again ;D
But this is another thing...

We dir-855 gave some feedback on the beta firmware, but a lot less than I had expected with all the compaints and problems the forums were discussing! What I would really like to know is if Dlink is working on polishing this beta firmware up some more to improve on the wireless disconnects, or will that be a new firmware altogether? I really thought that we would have heard more back from dlink on this beta firmware or even if they are going to make it final or rework it. Hopefully we will get some sort of response from anybody ::) (Dlink or forum members) at this point on feedback or the status of beta firmware! Thanks.

Been doing some tests on games with 2 xboxes on the router, I seem to be getting some type of Jitter, or inconsistent bandwidth, anyone know what could cause this?
-
I'm still getting "2.4GHz Band: Wireless restart" every 3min.
Running "Firmware Version : 1.21NA, 2009/11/05"
-
Is this BETA for US customers only?
Can it be used on a EU A2 revision Dir-855?
Has anyone from EU tried this on their device?
Has anyone from EU ever tried any US fw on their device?
Thanks,
-
Yes, you can use the NA firmware on the EU model. I've done so in the past before 1.2x, one downside is that besides not being able to go back to a version before 1.2x in general (all versions), you also (for now) can't switch anymore between the 1.21NA release and the 1.20EU release. Many EU people are reporting not being able to flash back to a EU version (even in the 1.2x range) from a NA version. I don't know for sure if this is a 1.21 -> 1.20 flashback issue (ergo not being able to flash lower than 1.21 if 1.21 is installed) or if it's an difference in microcode for the EU and NA version, since there are differences in the USB versions used for the USB port.
So think twice when flashing with the NA version, BUT this version does fix a lot of problems (more than the current 1.20EU version)...
-
In your expert opinion, would you flash your device to the NA fw if you were sat on the ancient but kinda-stable 1.12?
Cheers,
-
This firmware does not fix the WAN lockups in my case.
-
Hey Now,
I was one of the many who were experiencing a router lockup every 3 days and after loading this firmware I have been running 8 days straight without any problem. Finally no more calls from the wife every 3 days telling me the computer is broken. ;D
-
If i put a direct url, http://RouterIP/Tools/Admin.shtml for example , don't ask me for login and password.
Please, can somebody check this and confirm if it is a bug?
Edit:
Ummmm... If i login in firefox, session is open for other browsers (like explorer, opera, chrome...) even if i close firefox (or other browser), why??? open to a IP???? seriously??????
Session must be only for the browser who open it and must be closed when browser is closed or pass "X" time...
-
I flashed to it and I'm really unhappy! Wireless errors and packetloss and my router just completely rebooted itself for no reason. ):
-
Did you reset it to factory defaults ?
And did you configure it manually afterwards ?
Do not use a saved settings file from an older version.
-
That's always the way I do things when upgrading. Maybe I'll try hard resetting the router and and setting up everything again. With all of the people saying things are fixed in this version, I actually have more issues now than I did with the 1.12.
-
Are you running P2P like utorrent ? Try to lower the number of connections.
Also you may try to test the DIR with only one radio enabled first.
If no errors occur switch to the other radio only.
I had a lot of issues because I had another 2.4GHz router placed near the DIR.
But now it is running > 40 days with this last firmware
-
I have both radios enabled because of my N based notebook which I set to run on the 5GHz band only. This is the only router I use. I do have utorrent active on one of my systems. I am using a DSL connection though with a crappy 1Mbit upload so it's has already been adjusted to limit its number of connections in both directions. I have yet to hard reset it but I think I'm going to do that right now.
-
Hard reset the router and everything and here's what I have so far. ):

See! I definitely am not the only one. How long has the beta 7 been out? Technically, we still don't have a final release and that there are still some outstanding issues. The sad part is that D-Link only seems to care about the DGL series and not the DIR since they get the updates first and there's always someone from D-Link lurking around the GamerLounge forums.
-
The new BETA firmware seemed to have fixed things for a while for me but the problem returned. The "offical" D-Link tech support had me set my wireless devices all to a fixed IP (static) and this seems to have helped some. Still terrible packet loss like most of you all. I use the DAW-160 wireless adapters and have an Xbox and two WiFi Radios.

Is there any information on the new beta? Can you roll back to the 1.21 (various messes) if the 1.22 beta 02 is worse for you?
