The SharePort versioning is causing major problems. I have a DIR-625 revC router and I just upgraded to the 3.08 firmware and I'm assuming I am supposed to be using the 1.14 version of SharePoint. For some reason I had the version 1.15 installed before which is really for the DIR-825 Router. Anyway I am now having trouble getting the SharePort to recognize my Seagate Freeagent Pro USB External Drive and a new Toshiba SuperMulti Drive. I also have a Brother MFC-290 attached. These have always worked fine before 2 days ago (with the version 1.15) and now I'm having problem on both of my laptops, Vista 32 Ultimate and XP Pro. I did the upgrade to the 3.08 firmware on the DIR-625, and I've uninstalled and reinstalled the 1.14 version of SharePoint on both machines. I'll be back when I find out more.
Why can't D-Link just create a single install of SharePort that queries the router and downloads the appropriate version of the software. You definitely need a different versioning system if you are going to have to require a different version of SharePort for each router. At the least it is confusing and I'm sure it is causing support headaches. I understand the need for different versions if you have different software OS version on each router. Maybe someone can come up with a different versioning system for each router and version of Shareport.

I am also trying to figure out how to get SharePort working on the DIR-625 hardware version C1 with firmware version 3.08. I had a very hard time finding the SharePort utility anywhere, but eventually found SharePort Plus 4.2.0 R1 on the D-Link website. I installed, but no luck. It always reports "No device servers were found on the network." Can anybody point me to the correct shareport utility to work with firmware version 3.08?
BTW, when I set up the USB to be a network port under "USB Settings", it indicates I need to install "Network USB Utility" on any computer from which I want to access the port. After Googling, I assume that the utility is now called SharePort, but maybe I actually need "Network USB Utility"?
Thanks!
