Can I use a printer without having a hard drive in the DNS-323? I was waiting to get a hard drive until I could confirm what would work. Well, it's been confirmed and ordered, but I would like to print some things without moving my printer to my PC.
Should I be able to access and print when there are no drives installed? If yes, then what do I need to do to have the printer work?
My VISTA computer sees the printer but nothing actually prints, and my XP computer doesn't even see the printer.

I don't believe printing is possible without a HD as the DNS323 partitions a HD to include a print queue. Without the queue present I don't see how it could print.

As rcblackwell has indicated - the printserver cannot work if there is no disk installed - you need disk space for the print queue, which is where the print jobs are stored before printing.

Thanks for the info!
