Hi,
I've all my files stored into structured directory with sud folders. One for Music, One for Videos, One for photos etc ..
And each sub folders have some sub folder like Series, movies for the video folder for example.
But, when i use the music menu on the DSM-510, my Mp3 files don't appears. no music on the sub menu "by artist" or else.
It's the same thing for videos and photos.
If i want to found my media, i have to go into the server menu, and folder menu, and navigate into the structure of my shared directory to found the media to read ....
This problem comes from the NAS DNS-323, because with another UPNP server on my computer, it is correctly shared ...
What is the solution ? I don't want put all my media in the same folder like into a trash .....

I have a folder setup identical to yours, running dns-323 1.08b5. However, I don't have the problem you seem to be experiencing. Things show up correctly on my PS3 exactly where I expect them to be. It's my only UPnP device in my home, but I don't have any problems with it.
I'd try and help more but can't locate the DSM-510 on the US support site.

The DSM-510 requests a string command from the DNS-323 that is not supported to populate the Music menu on the DSM-510. That is why you only see music in the SERVER status tab. If you do a search in the DSM-510 section for this issue you will see that I have answered it before with more detail.

Because you don't get a solution ... actually i'have the 1.08 firmware on the DNS-323, and the fonctionnality of the CDS:Search command is not implemented or is not working.
can you confirm that ?
PS : i've check your 40 page of answer :p

Unfortunately there is no solution.

Unfortunately there is no solution.
I'm sorry to read that.
I'm really disappointed about the DNS-323, and DSM-510.
If in the future i have to buy any D-Link device, i will be only LAN device like Router, Switch where D-Link are really good.
But unfortunately for the media device .... Not really compatibility between thems, and sometimes like the "support subtitles", it's not true.
Thanks for your answer.
Regards.
