Title: Twonky
Post by: Bond13579 on November 20, 2009, 08:38:06 AM
I'm looking for information about Twonky.  I've been to the site but still don't understand why some people install it on their DNS.  If I'm able to stream videos on my XBOX 360 from the DNS, why would I need Twonky?  What does it bring to the table?

i know for me it is the refresh rate, i don't do anything and it appears on my PS3 and DSM-750 very quickly unlike the built-in upnp server in the DNS which i have to manually refresh and it takes hours to appear on my PS3 ...

Well, it's like comparing the stereo your car comes with from the factory versus a nice, aftermarket one you install along with better speakers.

There's all sorts of things that Twonky does better as well as features it has that the built-in UPnP server on the DNS-323 doesn't even have.
