Hi there,
A client of mine has 8 DES-1228 switches. He was having random issues with switch ports locking up so I figured I'd try the newest firmware (1.11.01). The firmware installed just fine on the first switch, except that it completely wiped out the configuration. Luckily I had the config backed up so I could easily restore things, but this was very impractical as the management IP is on a VLAN, so I to go the closet where the switch was to restore the config. Is this normal? It'll make upgrading the firmware on the rest of the switches very impractical.
Thanks.

I believe this may depend on how many versions you are jumping. If you apply the firmware sequentially, do you see this problem?
-
I didn't jump any. I went from 1.10.12 to 1.11.01. Has anyone else had this happen to them?
-
I do not personally know of this happening to anyone else.

Hi, netatwork
I suggest you can use D-Link SmartConsole utility to upgrade firmware to all DES-1228 at the same time in discovery mode even all DES-1228 IP address is the same. Thanks a lot.
