It's been less than 24 hours I have my NAS enclousere and It's up and running, ftp over ddns works fine, got remote gui access and everything. BUT my knowledge doesn't reaches on how to set up a VPN to my NAS or having it mounted outside my lan (never done that). So knowing how far i made it, can some please give me toturial -or a link to it- on how to mount a nas drive outside my network (i.e. VPN).
Thanks

Since the DNS-323 does not include a VPN server, a tutorial on setting up a VPN would be out of the scope of this forum, as it would involve either hacking the DNS-323 or delving into the make up of your LAN.
I'd say the easiest way to deal with it would be to replace your router with one that can act as a VPN end point.

I have just googled "map ftp drive" I'll try some the options listed,
Sorry for the trouble

No trouble at all - if you're going to use ftp, please remember the lack of encryption and security risks that are involved - all of which are eliminated with a VPN.

Is it that unreliable an ftp server?
So, there's no other way to securely connect to my NAS than VPN?
Then, we should ask DLink to add a VPN endpoint to fw 1.08

Did you see me mention reliability anywhere?
Maybe a quick google using keywords ftp & security would be advisable.
