Title: Router will not boot up...
Post by: godwheel on November 29, 2009, 07:20:44 PM
Hello,

I've had the D-Link 825 for about a week. Last night the router was working fine, this morning I woke up and only the D-Link logo was lit up while the rest of the other lights were off. I tried a power cycle reset and it did not help. Also tried unplugging all the cables + antennas, then power cycle and no dice.

Anything else I can try? Did I get a brick?

Thanks!

Long answer short, yes.

I had the same exact problem when I got a brand new DIR-825 B1 as a replacement months ago.  Upper tech support finally concluded it's a defective board (No firmware will fix it)  You will have to just send it in to dlink and have it replaced.

I dealt with it for months by just never unplugging the power cord.  sometimes after a half hour or 45 minutes re plugging it in would work, but it was always a hassle.  Eventually it never worked again (Just the D-Link light would be on notifying you it's plugged in, but orange power light never comes on)

Thanks! That's what I figured -- back to Office Depot it went :)
