Title: Wireless Setup Help Please
Post by: captkrusty on December 01, 2009, 02:32:41 PM
Hello
I am having a hell of a time setting up my router.  I recently upgraded to Windows 7 and I have not been able to confingure my routers wireless settings.

The router worked fine under vista 64, I had no problems configuring it when I built this computer 3 months ago.

I am currently using firmware ver 1.21 with hardware version A2

Now for the problem, I log on to the internet, I connect to the web based config site, and try and set up my wireless router

I click on Setup, Wireless Setup and try and click on the Wireless Network setup wizard and I get a pop window that says I must enable wireless first

I click on manual wireless setup and click on enable wireless, assign a SSID name, select the type of security method and assign a password, click on save settings and it either takes me to a blank web page that says diagnose connection problem, or a different white screen that says it is checking on connection, and will refresh in a moment.

The screen refreshes and I am back at the admin log in site and none of my settings have been saved and I try to start over with the same results.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, by the way my experience is very limited with these types of things

If you are having to use the wizard you might be better served by talking to tech support.

I tried using the wizard first because its easy, and has worked in the past.  When I tried setting it up manually, the site would still not save my settings when I tried to do so.  Thats why I posted for help.

Anyway, I found a solution to the problem for those of you that may experience this in the future.  I was trying anything I could think of, and I think I got lucky, but this eventually solved the problem, I reset the router, rebooted the computer, tried the web site again, but this time I received a box asking me if I wanted to install a active x control, hit yes and then everything installed correctly.
