Title: Accessing G Drive through a VPN
Post by: KCrisp on January 07, 2008, 11:35:42 AM
I connect via a VPN to my workplace.  However, when I try and access the G: drive it will not allow me to.  However, if I bypass the wireless router and connect directly through the cable modem I have no problems mapping and/or accessing the G: drive through the VPN.

What setting do I need to change on the router to be able to MAP and access other drives through a VPN?

Thank You.

Please ensure that your VPN connection has the correct DNS and WINS servers set.  Additionally, you will need to map the G: drive manually before it can be used.

Thank you, the DNS and WINS are correct.  I am unable to manually Map the G drive unless the router will let me in to do it.

If I bypass the wireless router I can Map the G drive with no problem through the Cable Modem when connected to the VPN so apparently there is some setting within the router that is limiting that access.

When you manually map the G drive what path do you give it?
