I just purchased a DIR-825 due to my phone lines running on 2.4ghz (everytime i had a phone call i lost internet until i hung up :-\). However, after setting up the router I can only see the SSID for the 2.4ghz connection and not the SSID for the 5ghz (they have different names). I am using a DWA-552 Xtreme N Desktop Adapter for my wireless card and it boasts being 802.11n so why is it that I cannot see my 5ghz connection? My router is downstairs but it is still less than 50ft away diagonally and passes through minimal structures/objects. Any ideas?

The specs for your DWA-552 adapter show it only works on the 2.4 ghz frequency (Wireless Frequency Range • 2.4GHz to 2.4835GHz
). To see the 5 ghz you need an adapter/card that can also communicate on that frequency.
Cheers

Ah i see, thank you. :-\
I've been trying to find another wireless card for my computer that allows 5ghz connections but im having trouble. Does anyone know of some other dlink wireless cards for 5ghz frequencies? I do not have pci-express slots on this motherboard, only pci and agp.

There are adaptors that are PCI, as well u can use USB if you really need to.

You could also get a new phone that is DECT. It won't interfere with your wireless router. Those phones are very common now.
